Meet Tara

The founder of Mamas That Braid and a proud mama that braids.

Tara is the founder of Mamas That Braid and a proud mama that braids. She has always loved creating with her hands, from knitting as a child to braiding, macramé, and a little Canva madness.

During term time, she is often in school braiding clubs or teaching adults how to braid, and in the summer she brings braiding to festivals and events, including Glastonbury 2025, which was an epic experience.

What began with styling her daughter’s hair grew into a mission to help more parents and carers feel confident caring for and celebrating all hair types. Her favourite part is not just the smile in the mirror, but the messages and photos from workshop attendees proudly showing the braids they can now do themselves.
